What do you do when you have the perfect location to grow grapes, except for one major issue; it doesn’t rain for six months each year? You install a Grundfos submersible SP pump. For Ampelos Vineyard and Cellars located in south-central California, their vines need 132,000 gallons of water a week to produce a successful crop; however, due to the lack of rain, water is drawn from an aquifer 165 feet below ground. When the existing Grundfos pump system needed service, they requested a new Grundfos submersible SP pump because of the 20 years of reliability and dependability they received from their previous pump, allowing their biodynamic farm to operate in an organic and sustainable way. Getting water to the crop is the key to becoming an award-winning winery, and with the help of a Grundfos pump, the Ampelos Vineyard has achieved its goal.
